Partners |
Committees Partners may volunteer to serve on any number of the committees below. The Grant Committees are one-time opportunities that begin and end with the Grant making cycle. The other committees listed below are on-going and support our organizations sustainability.
Grant Committees The Grant Committees are the heart of the organization. The four grant sub-committees follow a specific structured process. These committees guide partners and potential grantees through the nominating and application processes. The grants committees conduct research in each of the category areas. For more detailed information about these committees please plan to attend the next training or feel free to contact a member of our board. • Reviewing Committee • Category Committees • Tally Committee • Awards Committee
Grant Giving Cycle
Education The education committee procures speakers and educators to provide partners with skill building opportunities and programs that enhance women’s effectiveness in giving. Lectures, panel discussions, trainings and events prepare women to confidently exercise their voices in the community and beyond by learning about the funding of their charitable interests. The education committee magnifies partners’ exposure to the nonprofit community and encourages women to become high-impact philanthropists.
Events The Event Committee is responsible for planning all types of events within Impact Giving. These include Invitational’s, Education Events, Partner training for Leadership & the Grant Process, our Grant Season kick-off event each fall, New Partner Orientation, The Chair Breakfast, Social Networking events and our Celebration & Award event each spring. Specifically this committee works together to set the theme, decide food & beverage, and assess all details of each event. We work together to collaborate and share our ideas to make each event fun and successful.
Partners & Friends
The Partners & Friends committee’s primary purpose is recruitment and retention of partners. The committee serves to promote the organizations mission, accomplishments and values through a series of informal social gatherings and networking opportunities throughout the year. Additionally, annual orientation meetings are held each year in conjunction with the education programs. This committee follows up on women who attend gatherings and have not yet committed to becoming partners, and coordinates follow-up for partners who are actively recruiting potential new partners.
Communications
The communication committee is responsible for marketing, partner communications and public relations of the organization. Communication materials include bimonthly email newsletters, annual reports, and invitations. The communications committee also oversees website maintenance, press releases, and the partner directory. It designs and implements the “partner voters ballot”. This committee is the voice, touch and connection of IG. Finance
The chair of the finance committee communicates regularly with the board chair and the board of directors. She must be familiar with money-management practices, accounting principles and taxes for nonprofit organizations. This committee is responsible for working with the board chair to prepare an annual budget and make recommendations to the board of directors regarding revenue generation for administrative expenses and sustainability. Committee members monitor monthly expenses and review quarterly financial reports. For fiscal accountability the committee engages a professional accountant to regularly review these reports and assist with preparation of the 990 report and required audits.
