We have a long list of people needing medical intervention and are always looking for medical volunteers who can provide specialty care – such as otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists, general surgeons, ophthalmologists, orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and more.

Thank you for considering volunteering your time to help Alzheimer’s Orange County. We have over 100 volunteers who participate in the work of our organization in a variety of ways. Our volunteers serve as our representatives in the community and as valuable members of our AOC team assisting us with our many programs, services and events.

Be Well OC is uniting community members, care providers, and organizations to make compassionate mental health and substance abuse care more accessible for Orange County residents.

CASA volunteers are ordinary people – men and women, students and executives, retirees and busy professionals. CASA will provide all of the training you need to be a powerful voice for a child’s best interest. A Court Appointed Special Advocate visits with a child on a regular basis, interacts with all professionals involved in the child’s case and makes recommendations directly to the court, ensuring the child’s best interests are heard. A CASA will address a child’s educational needs, help find a permanent home and provide the guidance and resources necessary for an independent future

With your support, Concern America transforms materially impoverished areas of Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico by training community members in health care, clean water, income generation and more. In addition to financial contributions, there are ways to get involved and support this work from afar.
Volunteer at a Fair Trade Sale- Each year, Concern America sells its fair trade craft items at more than 100 locations in California and around the country. Sign up to volunteer and work first-hand to support cooperatives of families working to improve their communities.

Host your own Fair Trade Sale- Give your own community the opportunity to purchase some of the beautiful and unique hand-made items from cooperatives around the world by hosting your own fair trade craft sale. Everything is provided for you to host a sale at your home, church, school, or community event.

FELLOWSHIP ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM MENTOR
Share your business or industry knowledge by mentoring one of our Fellowship teams as they dream, design, and implement their community service projects.
“PITCH PERFECT” VOLUNTEER COACH (ONE-DAY)
“Pitch Perfect” is an opportunity for adult volunteers to work alongside our high school Dragon Fellows. In the Fellowship Program, student teams have 6 months to design and launch a service project with up to $5,000 in seed funding. At the end of our program, teams present the results of their service project to a panel of judges at a closing ceremony. The top three projects will advance to our annual Dragon Challenge Gala for the opportunity to double their funding. At Pitch Perfect, Dragon Fellows practice their presentations with our volunteers in a open coaching setting. This is their first chance to pitch their work to a new audience and receive honest feedback.

Families Forward relies on community volunteers to expand our reach and serve more vulnerable families. Last year more than 2,000 volunteers contributed approximately 21,000 hours of service. Your time will help change the life of a family in need.
We have three main types of volunteer opportunities:
Weekly volunteers in assigned positions in areas such as the front desk, food pantry, or computer lab.
Seasonal volunteers for our annual service programs such as Back-to-School Program, Thanksgiving Baskets, and Adopt-a-Family.
Special event volunteers for activities like the Families Forward Community-Wide Food Drives, Toy Drives, Community Resource Fair, and Annual Gala.

Family Promise urgently needs van drivers. Your assistance is needed transporting families:
Transport children to school and parents to our Family Resource Center.
Transport parents to job interviews.
Transport families to the host congregation.

Our dedicated volunteers perform crucial roles around the world, ranging from administrative support at our Irvine, CA headquarters to wheelchair assembly with our distribution partners on the field.
Volunteer at our Office: Volunteer opportunities are available year-round for individuals at our office in Irvine, CA. Most of our local volunteer opportunities involve campaigns or special events such as our annual Run for Mobility and our Miracle of Mobility gala.

2022-23 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Drive-Thru Distribution – We’ve Got Your Back
Fridays 9:00 am – 12:00 pmDuring our distributions, roughly 300 families from our We’ve Got Your Back program. This means they have been identified by our school partners as having risk factors such as housing insecurity, food insecurity, and or lack of employment. At the distribution, we load boxes of produce, meat, dairy, and more into the vehicles. We need volunteers to help prep bags and load them into the cars.
Food Packing – We’ve Got Your Back
Mondays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm We need volunteers to help pack food that will be distributed to our 65 school partners and 1,300 families throughout Southern California.
Christmas Toy Sorting
Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm – 4:00 pmStarting in September, we will be preparing for Christmas! You can help us sort and shop for gifts for gifts for the 3,500 children and their siblings in our We’ve Got Your Back (WGYB) program.

In 2014, Points of Light certified JIT as a Service Enterprise, defined as an “organization that fundamentally leverages volunteers and their skills across all levels of the organization to successfully deliver on its social mission.” This means we count on volunteers to provide the resources, relationships, and expertise that deliver much-needed services to transitioning foster youth while building organizational capacity. Many types of volunteer roles exist, including;
being a coach/mentor in our young men’s or women’s programs,
helping plan and execute events,
developing and facilitating workshops
providing administrative support
organizing donated items at our storage units
transporting furniture
reviewing resumes and conducting mock interviews

Volunteers are the backbone of our cause and serve in a number of different capacities. Groups, individuals, and families are encouraged to take part in supporting the Child Abuse Prevention Center’s efforts as we continue our mission of connecting with and serving those in need.
Basic Needs Warehouse: The Basic Needs Program supports families who are working to establish a healthy non-abusive environment for their children. These families lack the basic items needed to raise their children. Together, with your help, we can get these families what they need to provide a loving and safe home. Bagging food, sorting clothing, and assisting with inventory are just a few ways which you can help the Basic Needs Program get these items to a family in need.
Office Support: Volunteers are needed to assist with general office support such as: organizing and maintaining the Resource wall, inventorying and sorting the supply room, sanding and painting wooden toys to give to children, special event mailers, assembling thank you gifts, and other projects.
Skill Based Volunteer: Be a volunteer with us in a way that allows you to apply your job skills and strengths to a great cause!

SOY depends on the talents and generosities of volunteers to work with our youth, provide special workshops, drive or chaperone on field trips, help out with special events or fundraisers, and help out in our office with administrative tasks.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASAs are volunteers of all backgrounds who make a commitment to advocate for the needs of the child or sibling group with whom they are matched.
A CASA volunteer serves as a fact finder for the judge by thoroughly researching the background of the assigned case and gathering additional and ongoing information about the case as it develops. He or she also speaks on behalf of the child in the courtroom—advocating for the child’s best interests—and acts as an overseer for the child for the duration of the case.
